Teacher Aide - Kindergarten LTS The New York Mills Union Free School District is currently seeking applications for individuals to serve as per diem Long Term Substitute Teacher Aide - Kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year. General Statement of Duty: Assists school teachers and administrators in the performance of teaching and non-teaching functions by performing varied operational duties associated with the teaching process within the building setting. Does related work as required. Distinguishing Features of the Class: This title is employed for positions which are created for the main purpose of relieving school personnel, assisting teachers and administrators of the at part of their duties, which while related to the teaching process can be performed by non-professional personnel.Typical Work Activities: (illustrative only) Assists with daily attendance; Oversees students in non-structured periods (i.e. breakfast, lunch, playground, bus duty, before and after school). Such individual should also have the ability to establish good relationships with children and others; Familiarity with classroom routine; Good background or knowledge in specific field where specialized duties are involved; Ability to maintain discipline; Exercise tact, courtesy and good judgement. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and experience working with children and/or students preferred.Appointment is subject to fingerprint clearance.Interested candidates must possess fingerprint clearance.
