Automotive MechanicThe New York Mills Union Free School District is currently seeking applications for the position of Automotive Mechanic - Bus Driver.Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and at least thirty (30) credit hours from a regionally accredited or New York State college, twelve (12) credits of which were in automotive technology courses; OR graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma, including or supplemented by a two-year NYS Certified BOCES Program in Automotive Technology; OR graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and two (2) years of experience as a skilled automotive mechanic.Additional Qualifications: In accordance with New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law, Article 19-A, §509-b. Qualifications of bus drivers. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a person shall be qualified to operate a bus only if such person:is at least twenty-one years old (at least eighteen years old, with restrictions - no interstate commerce, cannot transport hazardous materials, and cannot operate a school bus);has been issued a currently valid driver's license or permit which is valid for the operation of the bus in this state;has passed the bus driver physical examination administered pursuant to regulations established by the commissioner; andis not disqualified to drive a motor vehicle pursuant to section five hundred nine-c or any other provision of this article.Rate per contract: $30/hour per CSEA - NYMUFSD ContractInterested candidates must possess fingerprint clearance.
