The Nyack Union Free School District anticipates a probationary teacher vacancy for an elementary art teacher at Upper Nyack Elementary School, serving grades K through 5. Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality art instruction to students in grades K–5 aligned with New York State Learning Standards. Instruction should focus on developing a range of 2D and 3D artistic skills, as well as creative practices, such as reflecting on and discussing the art-making process. Demonstrate a passion for the visual arts education, strong classroom management, effective instructional practices, the ability to collaborate with colleagues, and a commitment to ongoing professional growth Incorporate culturally relevant practices that intentionally integrate and make space for a variety of perspectives and voices into instructional materials, broadening students’ understanding of themselves and the world around them. Demonstrate knowledge of and experience with differentiated instruction and inclusive practices to support students with diverse learning needs, fostering a classroom community where every young artist can thrive. Maintain high expectations for all students while supporting their growth as creative thinkers and artists. Qualifications: New York State Visual Arts certification K-12 required.
