Nyack Public Schools is seeking candidates for a long-term substitute General & Vocal Musicteacher serving Liberty Elementary school (Grades K-5) students in a vibrant, diverse communityfor the anticipated period of 8/27/2025 - 05/29/2026 (Fall Semester).Responsibilities include but are not limited to: teaching choir with an emphasis on music literacy,students’ social emotional well-being, equity, and social justice. Knowledge of vocal pedagogyand functional piano skills are highly desirable. The candidate will be responsible for preparingstudents for and conducting the Grades 1, 2, 3 Winter Concert in December and Grade 4/5concert in January.Qualities required include Departmental, Building, and District-wide collaboration, excellentcommunication skills, and culturally responsive teaching.Candidates must be certified in Music Education (NYS); additional certifications such as Kodaly,Orff and/or Dalcroze, or other relevant training pertaining to the position are highly encouraged.Diverse candidates are encouraged to apply.
