Nyack Public Schools is seeking candidates for a long term substitute Vocal Music teacher serving middle school (6-8) students in a vibrant, diverse community for the anticipated period of January through February with the possibility of being extended for additional time. Responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching choir with an emphasis on music literacy, students’ social emotional well-being, equity, and social justice. Knowledge of vocal pedagogy and functional piano skills are highly desirable. Qualities required include Departmental, Building, and District-wide collaboration, excellent communication skills, and culturally responsive teaching. Candidates must be certified in Music Education; additional certifications such as Kodaly, Orff and/or Dalcroze, or other relevant training pertaining to the position are highly encouraged.
