The Newark Valley Central School District is seeking a dynamic and innovative educator to serve as its next Elementary School Principal. Nathan T Hall Elementary services approximately 360 students in grades UPK - 3. The candidate should demonstrate strong leadership skills, highly successful classroom experience, knowledge of curriculum and effective instructional practices. The district is looking for leader who can facilitate and collaborate a with staff and parents to implement building initiatives and programs.This 12-month position requires a dynamic team-builder who has superior communication skills and comprehensive knowledge of instructional practices. This leader needs to understand the unique culture of small districts and lead a building that will foster a safe and productive school climate.The successful candidate will:Hold, or be eligible for, New York State Building Level Certification.Have a minimum of 5 years teaching experience at the elementary level or administrative experience.Demonstrate excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills.A vision for continuous school improvement.Create and maintain a welcoming, safe, engaging, and challenging learning and work environment.Demonstrate the ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and parents.Have experience with implementing schoolwide procedures to reduce unwanted student behavior.
