The North Syracuse Central School District is seeking applications for a Teacher on Special Assignment - ENL Coordinator.ENL Coordinator TOSA Job Description: This position will assist or take primary responsibility for the following areas related to ENL and World Languages. NYSESLAT testing coordination: Assist with accurate ordering Assist with checking tests prior to sending for scoring and transporting testing materials Assist with district wide return of testing materials Intake/Screening: Schedule and conduct initial interview after registration including reviewing the HLQ Secure previous school records and review to determine grade placement Administer NYSITELL where applicable Administer SIFE screener Conduct all Kindergarten screenings (June - August) ELL Transfer Information Coordination: Secure and enter NYSESLAT scores/services Review transcripts for credit decisions and grade placements at secondary level. Program Assurances: Review/audit service minutes Assist with annual projections Review Course of Studies to assist with proposing edits/additions for servicing needs Assist with annual handbook updates/edits Assist with annual data entry Maintain K-12 team shared drive Professional Development: Assist with providing in-house professional learning Assist with securing outside professional development Assess both ENL and general education staff PD needs Interpreters/Translators: Assist with coordination of district, building, and teacher process for securing translators/interpreters Facilitate capacity building for additional building staff (i.e. nurses, office personnel) Parent Communication/Event Coordination: Assist with district wide family events (i.e. district wide new entrant annual meeting, midyear parent check-ins, etc) Coordinate district wide Proficiency Graduation Assist with development of online parent support page Assist with online translation resources Work with interpreters at events Facilitate a system wide approach for centralizing the translation of written documents World Language Department Support: Primary coordinator of Seal of Biliteracy alongside one cocurricular advisor Assist with coordination of annual Festival of Nations event Assist with launch and continuation of PRHYLA (Puerto Rican Hispanic Youth Leadership Academy) initiative
