The Niskayuna Central School District is now accepting applications for a part-time Athletic Trainer. ASSIGNMENT: District wide; 600 hours during the school year SUMMARY: The work involves responsibility for the application of principles, methods and procedures for managing athletic injuries. The trainer shall support the preconditioning, conditioning and reconditioning of an individual athlete who has suffered an athletic injury through the use of appropriate preventive and supportive devices. Recognizes illness and refers to the appropriate medical professional with implementation of treatment pursuant to physician’s orders. The incumbent manages and supervises all athletic injuries and the return to play. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with a Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience as a certified athletic trainer. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: 1. National Athletic Training Association Certification (NATABOC) 2. NYS Athletic Training License 3. CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor CertificationNOTE: Selected applicants will be subject to a fingerprint supported criminal history background check in accordance with SAVE Legislation effective July 1, 2001.
