The Niskayuna Central School District is now accepting applications for a probationary track Assistant Directorof Student Support Services.ASSIGNMENT: Student Support Services; 11 months per year;SUMMARY:The Assistant Director of Student Support Services supports district leadership in the development,implementation and evaluation of the Niskayuna School District’s Student Support Services programs. Thegoal is to plan and maintain a sound, well-articulated Student Support Services program by working with pupils,teachers, administrators, and parents. This position has a specific scope of responsibility in evaluating StudentSupport Services programming to support the District, the Assistant Superintendent and Directors of StudentSupport Services.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILTIES:• Administers student support services programs within the district and with BOCES, including summerschool.• Develop processes and procedures to ensure the effective implementation of federal and stateregulations related to IDEA and supporting students with disabilities.• Supervises and evaluates student support services staff in conjunction with principals.• Collaborates with principals, teachers, supervisors, and other relevant agencies.• Assists in chairing the Committee on Pre-School Special Education (CPSE) and Committee on SpecialEducation (CSE) meeting, as assigned.• Reviews student support services programming, in conjunction with the Assistant Superintendent forStudent Support Services, to ensure effective implementation.• Conducts meetings of the student support services staff, as assigned.• Assist district leadership with the initiation/implementation of Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS),as assigned.• Coordinates Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Schools (TCIS) systems and training.• Support the supervision and facilitation of professional learning for related service providers such as:Speech, OT, PT, TVI, O&M, Assistive technology as well as support staff, where applicable.• Interprets and supports state, county and federal regulations.• Establishes linkages with various offices and agencies beyond the school that may provide specializedhelp to student and parents.• Provides continual professional development for Student Support Services staff.• Provides coaching and professional development on regulations and instructional practices.• Use data to monitor, measure, and improve practices to support student growth.Human ResourcesDistrict Office, 1239 Van Antwerp Road, Niskayuna, NY 12309(518) 377-4666 phone | (518) 377-4074 fax | humanresources@niskyschools.org• Perform other duties, as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:1.
