The Niskayuna Central School District has an anticipated opening and is now accepting applications for a Teaching Assistant. ASSIGNMENT: Special Education Department - K-2 Skills - 10 months per year - 30 hours per week QUALIFICATIONS: NYS Teaching Assistant Certification preferred. Exceptional candidates without certification will be considered for employment as a substitute TA (for a maximum of 40 school days) until certification is obtained. Minimum requirements for certification include: • High School Diploma or equivalent • NYS Assessment of Teaching Assistant Skills Test • Completion of workshops in: Child Abuse Identification, School Violence, and Dignity for All Students (DASA) NOTE: Selected applicant will be subject to a fingerprint supported criminal history background check in accordance with SAVE Legislation effective July 1, 2001.
