The Niskayuna Central School District is now accepting applications for a Teaching Assistant - Assistance TeamASSIGNMENT: HSAT is offered for 9th and 10th graders. Students entering high school are referred by their middle school counselors based on academic, organizational and/or engagement needs. The HSAT team consists of teachers in the subject areas of English, Social Studies and Science. When able to, the Teaching Assistant goes into classes and works closely with the teachers. Within the HSAT room, the Teaching Assistant is able to review material as well as remind students of upcoming assignments and tests. The Teaching Assistant is able to look at the students' classes and grades on the computer and communicates with parents.; 10 months per year; 37.5 hours per week. QUALIFICATIONS: New York State Teaching Assistant Certification preferred. Exceptional candidates without certification will be considered for employment as a Substitute Teaching Assistant (for a maximum of 40 school days) until certification is obtained.
