City School District of New RochelleEmbracing Diversity: Driving SuccessThe City School District of New Rochelle is seeking candidates for the position of Director of Technology/Chief Technology Officer (DOT/CTO). The successful candidate will be a highly accomplished and experienced leader who will reorganize the existing Technology Department into an agile team of professionals that will integrate technology into all facets of the District. The Director will orchestrate data assessment & reporting, networking & infrastructure, and instructional technology.With an annual budget of almost $9 million a year (Central Data Processing and Instructional Media) and an additional $3.5 million in New York State Smart Bond funding, the Director will be responsible for leading a comprehensive vision for hardware, software, data/assessment, and instructional technology that aligns to the Strategic Vision, creates a world-class Technology Department, and effectively serves all 11,000 students across 11 buildings.Essential Job Functions:Work closely with the executive team and stakeholders to plan, develop, and implement a shared vision for technology within the district with a long-term, big-picture strategic perspective on District goalsEffectively plan, implement, and sustain all tasks related to technical systems, network infrastructure and asset managementManage the establishment and maintenance of systems and tools for gathering, mining, integrating, and reporting data in usable and meaningful ways to produce an information-focused culture in which data management is critical to strategic planningDevelop the annual technology budget utilizing a ‘zero-based’ budget and present to the Board of Education in public sessionManage and coordinate all NYS data assessment reporting; including current staff Annual Professional Performance Review (APPR) and Basic Educational Data System (“BEDS”)Chair the Technology Advisory Committee and SubcommitteesDevelop, organize, and supervise the implementation of the District Technology PlanManage the District’s student database/information systemsOversee the planning and organization of professional development on computer hardware, software, and instructional technologiesPursue and secure cost reduction or cost shifting measures to fund technology initiatives, including applying for and monitoring all technology grants and the District’s Federal e-Rate funding applicationLiaise between the SWBOCES LHRIC, and other technology consultantsAll other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for BusinessQualifications:At least 3 years’ experience as a Director of Technology/CTOMinimally must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Technology, or related field; a Master’s Degree is preferredNYS administrative certification required.
