The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include: Develop unit plans that include a well-rounded approach to the domains of learning in both physical and health education.Lessons should focus on character development, physical fitness, leisure activities and skills-based health education.Candidate should be able to draw on an extensive repertoire of instructional strategies to promote clear learning targets and content-specific outcomes aligned with national and state standards.Candidate should understand the importance of collaboration with colleagues to facilitate optimal working environment.Candidate should be able to integrate SEL practices into the instruction for all subjects taught.The candidate should be able to progress monitor students and maintain records to support the facilitation of outreach strategies for students who are in need of intervention.Requirements & Qualifications: New York State Teaching Certificate-Physical Education and Health Education Baccalaureate or Master’s Degree in Physical Education/Health Education Certification in CPR and Basic First Aid.
