Program will support students in grades k-9. Expanded Learning “Exploration” teachers will actualize a new program design that is focused on thematic units of study that include academic, social-emotional and enrichment experiences for our learners. Staff Needed:Elementary TeachersSecondary School Math Teachers Secondary School English TeachersElementary and Secondary School Teachers interested in teaching electives of choice.Instructional CoachesTeaching AssistantsRequirements:All contractual requirements and certifications applicable. Roles and Responsibilities:Participate in the engagement of stakeholdersEngage in opportunities to learn, create and then execute the implementation of thematics units of study that challenge the historical notions of learningAll Thematic units will incorporate the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) framework and the five competencies which include Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Responsive Decision Making, and Relationship Skills. Units of study will be expected to culminate in a final project, celebration and community shareAttend mandatory training sessionsReceive instructional feedback to support teaching and learningDifferentiate instruction for learners in the classroom setting.Collaborate with Instructional coaches, department chairs, site leader and the Director of Expanded Learning and Social Emotional Learning to build and strengthen the expanded learning community Use data to differentiate instructional practices and plan small group instructionCollect and present data to Director of Expanded and Social Emotional Learning Communicate with familiesManage classroom systems, procedures and expectations that support site policiesInfluence student behavior using a restorative approachParticipate meetings and professional learning opportunities Qualities and Values: Approaches learning with a willingness to shift the paradigm of learning experiences.
