An ideal candidate for this position is someone who can apply developmentally appropriate health literacy concepts to improve each student’s cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development. The anticipated probationary position of Health Education Teacher will begin on 9/01/2024. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Full-Time Middle School Health Teacher - Position Begins September 2024! Student-centered teaching philosophy and pedagogy that are supportive to ELL students, special education students, general education students, and gifted students. Strong interpersonal, communication, writing, and collaboration skills. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Create curricular documents such as daily lesson plans, unit plans, rubrics, tests, and projects in accordance with the state standards and district curriculum. Identify and implement a variety of evidence-based instructional strategies including but limited to multi-media resources and tools that enhance the learning experience through a range of learning opportunities. Experienced with a well-rounded approach to the domains of learning and provides instruction that inspires students to think critically and take on the appropriate level of challenge. Infuses culturally relevant practices into lesson plans and curriculum design that reflect all students' backgrounds and experiences. Take part in school-wide special events or activities by serving as an advisor, coach, chaperone, etc. Integrates diverse perspectives and voices into instructional materials and resources to broaden students' understanding of the world and nurtures a sense of belonging while still maintaining strong classroom management.
