Team planning on site time daily 11:30-12:30 Monday through Thursday of which two hours per week can be utilized for check ins and professional learning. 8:00-8:30 am Monday full staff check in. 11:30-12:30 Thursday weekly team check in The City School District of New Rochelle is seeking Teachers and Teacher Assistants for the Expanded Learning student experience for Summer 2024. Summer Stars “Deep Dive” teachers and teaching will continue to expand, extend and amplify the new program design that is focused on thematic units of study that include academic, social-emotional and enrichment experiences for our learners. Staff Needed:Reading Teachers ElementarySpecial Education ElementarySpecial Education SecondaryGeneral Education ElementaryGeneral Education SecondaryTeaching Assistants across Grade Levels Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree and valid New York State teaching certificate and license, as required by contract. Summer Stars Deep Dive Teacher Roles and Responsibilities:.Att Participate in the engagement of stakeholders Engage in opportunities to learn, create and then execute the implementation of thematics units of study that challenge the historical notions of summer learning All Thematic units will incorporate the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) framework and the five competencies which include Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Responsive Decision Making, and Relationship Skills. Units of study will be expected to culminate in a final project, celebration and community share Attend mandatory central office training sessions Receive non-evaluative instructional feedback to support teaching and learning Differentiate instruction for learners in the classroom setting Collaborate with site leader and the Director of Expanded Learning and Social Emotional Learning to build and strengthen the summer learning community Use data to differentiate instructional practices and plan small group instruction Manage classroom systems, procedures and expectations that support site policies Elementary Attendance must be taken daily and submitted to the main office by 9:30am Secondary Attendance must be taken in the first 5 minutes of the instructional period Ensure completion of all assessments by required due dates Influence student behavior using a restorative approach Participate in weekly meetings and professional learning opportunities Summer Stars Deep Dive Teacher Qualities and Values: Approaches summer learning with a willingness to shift the paradigm of learning experiences Passionate about possibilities of summer learning for students and igniting new skills, knowledge and interests Excited to learn new practices and build instructional competencies Utilize reflection and data to ensure collective growth, change, and continuous improvement Apply systems and structures to ensure clear expectations Employ innovative, creative and critical processes to teaching and learning which challenge the paradigm on what summer learning can look like Sustain and prioritize communication that is clear and appropriate for the intended audience Values culturally responsive and supportive practices Commitment to creating and designing opportunities for students in the classroom and/or school-wide experiences that embrace and challenge all students to meet their individual and collective potential External Applicants apply on OLAS by March 29, 2024.
