Candidates will be considered based on their demonstrated ability to do the following:Establish and maintain rapport with students, foster a welcoming and affirming classroom environment, and address inappropriate behavior using a restorative approach.Develop and/or implement culturally relevant units and lessons aligned with the expectations of the Next Generation Standards.Prepare lessons that reflect differentiation in student learning styles and abilities and use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.Utilize Webb’s Depth of Knowledge to structure student activities and assignments and ensure instructional practice is current with best practices.Conduct and maintain ongoing assessments of student achievement and behavior, both formative and summative, using appropriate assessment methods.
