City School District of New RochelleEmbracing Diversity: Driving Success The City School District of New Rochelle is seeking a highly qualified candidate for a (.5) ENL position at a middle school.Qualifications: NYS Certification in K-12 TESOL and preferably ELA/Literacy (Birth through 6 or 5-12)Skills: Extensive experience with ENL strategies and literacy development. Extensive knowledge of administration of the NYSITELL and NYSESLAT. Extensive experience with integrated ENL classes. Bilingual Spanish (preferred) Responsibilities: Plan, prepare and facilitate lessons to develop students’ language acquisition and literacy for stand-alone and integrated classes. Lessons include integration of instructional technology and student-centered activities. Assess students’ performance accurately and regularly; provide thoughtful and meaningful feedback for improvement. Establish and maintain an open channel of communication with parents and school personnel. Promote a safe and stimulating environment for all students; encourage student participation.
