Candidates must possess a current NYS certification in science. Dual certification in chemistry and physics preferred. Qualifications:Strong background in all areas of sciencesBackground in using technology to create innovative learning experiences for studentsDemonstrate ability to work with a variety of stakeholdersExtensive knowledge of analysis and interpretation of scientific dataJob Description:Work closely with the science research teacher at New Rochelle High School to support students with competitions and all other aspects of the science research programCollaborate with science research professionals from regional facilities to help students connect with a mentor with whom students will be collecting data and experience for their research projectsAccompany students at introductory “mentor meeting” with potential mentors. Other travel includes science competitions and symposia including the Regeneron Science Talent Search (Regeneron STS), the International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF), Junior Science & Humanities Symposium (JSHS), Westchester Science and Engineering Fair (WESEF), Tri-County Science Fair, and the International Genius Olympiad.Monitor progress of each student as they progress through their research projects and presentations Conduct student research presentation evenings to showcase student work and allow for students to have multiple opportunities to prepare for various science fairsPrevious applicants need not apply.NYS Certification is required at time of applicationEOE: Minority candidates are encouraged to applyPlease do not send resumes to Human Resources: They will not be accepted
