City School District of New RochelleEmbracing Diversity: Driving Success English Language Learner Administrator Grades K-8(Assistant Director) QUALIFICATIONS: SDA/SDL Certification – At least seven years of successful experience in English Language Acquisition and Literacy.REPORTS TO: Director of Instruction SupportsSUPERVISES: K-8 TESOL TeacherJOB SUMMARY: The English Language Learner Administrator will work in coordination with the Director of Instructional Supports to plan, supervise, and coordinate activities, monitor the delivery of English Language Learner services as mandated by the NYSED Chancellor’s Regulation Part 154 (CR Part 154).PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Research and evaluate appropriate strategies and programs that will address the needs of English Language Learners. Assist in the implementation of the Title III compliance goals and school-based allocations Plan and coordinate programs and professional learning school-based and district-wide with Director of Instructional Supports Conduct the identification and intake process of newly arrived students as mandated by NYSED CR-Part 154. Assist school-based administrators in creating teacher and student schedules for compliance Maintain complete student records as required by CR-Part 154 Collaborate with Grades 6-8 Humanities Chairs to assist in the alignment of resources and services for Transitioning and Expanding students. Collaborate with the ENL team to analyze student data (NYSESLAT, NYSITELL, STAR) to inform instruction Assist in the development and implementation of the ENL program resources Observe classroom instruction and provide feedback and assistance to classroom teachers to facilitate improvement and innovation. Demonstrate teaching strategies with students in the classroom. Conduct formal evaluation of TESOL teachers utilizing the Danielson Framework Facilitate professional learning opportunities for K-8 ENL teachers and districtwide Assist in school-based scheduling of the annual English proficiency achievement test (NYSESLAT) Assist in the coordination of accommodations for the NYS Grades 3-8 assessments (ELA, Math, Science) Coordinate and conduct Language Proficiency Team (LPT) meetings Serve as a member of school-based Response to Intervention team and Committee on Special Education meetings Coordinate and facilitate the District’s English Language Learners Parent Advisory Committee Coordinate and conduct Title III Parent Workshops school based and district-wide Plan and coordinate articulation between elementary and middle school teachers Assist in the personnel recruitment and recommendation for selection when vacancies occur Conduct orientation and assistance for new TESOL teachersNYS Certification in TESOL and SDL/SDA is required at the time of application NYS Certification is required at time of applicationEOE: Minority and Bilingual candidates are encouraged to applyPlease do not send resumes to Human Resources: They will not be accepted
