Northern Rivers is seeking a part-time English/Language Arts Teacher with an emphasis on a therapeutic journaling program. Not only will this role be following the English/Language Arts curricula, but it will also be leading an innovative project to use journaling to teach academic and social emotional skills. We offer flexible classroom setups for varying learning styles and are looking for someone with creative skills to keep students engaged!ResponsibilitiesEnglish/Language Arts instructional materials to provide individual and small group instruction to students of various ability levelsClassroom instructional plans with the Special Education Teacher (SET) that integrates the student’s IEP goals and objectives, learning style, as well as accommodations and modifications that are neededWork with the Special Education Teacher (SET) on individual and classroom behavior plans for managing student behavior to maintain discipline in the classroom.???????Opportunity to engage external authors and related resourcesEducation/Experience Bachelor's degree in Communication or subject area, as appropriate, and ability to work with students who demonstrate emotional and behavioral challenges, ages 6-21.
