The New Paltz CSD has a vacancy: Guidance Director/School Counselor. Full-time, Probationary. NYS School Counselor certification required.This is a 12 month position whose duties include but are not limited to:Serve as one of the school counselors for a high school of approximately 665 students Testing Coordinator/Administrator for ACT, PSAT/SAT and assist principal with orders of Regents exams and Regents testing accommodations Work with scheduling committee to provide advice and support to administration during the creation of the master schedule Supervise the process of sending out report cards and progress reports Work with school counselors to organize college, financial aid, and career exploration activities and 8th grade to 9th grade orientation activities.Work with school counselors to coordinate and ensure quality communication between NPCSD and other programs such as; Ulster BOCES CTI/ University in the High School Program Naviance Coordinator- Training, Ranking, Annual Reports, School Profile Coordinator Seal of Biliteracy and Seal of Civic Readiness Ensure the accuracy and quality of the guidance website and revision of School’s Course CatalogCoordination of the ongoing implementation and evaluation of the District Counseling Plan including delivery of lessons and the required annual report out. Provide oversight of NCAA course compliance.Work with school counselors to ensure the proper coordination and preparation for summer school Work with the school Principal to assign caseloads for counselors and ensure proper communication between the guidance department and families Participate on the instructional support team and work with school counselors to promote student attendance in all academic programs.Applicants must upload the following documents to OLAS: (a) Cover letter - to the attention of Dr. Linda Oehler-Marx, Deputy Superintendent, New Paltz CSD;(b) Resume;(c) Three current reference letters or a college credential file;(d) Copy of NYSED Certificate(s);(e) Copies of College Transcripts; and(f) Writing Sample.
