Assistant Director of Special Education for Elementary SchoolsThe North Shore Central School District seeks a collaborative and innovative leader for the position of Assistant Director of Special Education for Elementary Schools.The ideal candidate will have experience as a school psychologist and expertise in best practices for teaching and learning for students with disabilities that includes a belief in strengths-based approaches, differentiation, Universal Design for Learning, positive behavioral interventions, a deep knowledge of specific disabilities, and an overall belief that student differences are the norm, not the exception. Additionally, the candidate should have experience in facilitating CSE and 504 meetings and possess fluency in the special education evaluation process, special education regulations, and psycho-educational evaluations.The Assistant Director of Special Education for Elementary Schools will work with the Assistant Director of Special Education for Secondary Schools and the Director of Special Education to strategically plan professional development for faculty, new programs for students, and fiscally responsible budgeting for our community.
