We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable educator to join our middle school Social Studies team and inspire young minds. Position Probationary Secondary Social Studies Teacher (Middle School) — Full-Time, 1.0 FTE Start Date: September 2026 (2026–2027 school year) Assignment: 6th Grade Social Studies and 7th or 8th Grade Social Studies (based on department needs) Qualifications (Required) Valid New York State Social Studies certification (7–12) and 5–6 extension Strong knowledge of middle-level Social Studies curriculum and the NYS Social Studies Framework Experience or willingness to co-teach in inclusive classrooms with a special education teacher Commitment to culturally responsive, student-centered instruction and strong classroom culture Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons aligned with NYS Learning Standards and district curriculum Build students’ skills in inquiry, source analysis, discussion, and evidence-based writing Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs, including ENL students and students with IEPs/504s Use formative and summative assessments to monitor progress and provide timely feedback Collaborate with grade-level/department colleagues and support staff to strengthen instruction and student outcomes Maintain clear communication with students, families, and administrators Contribute positively to the school community and professional learning culture Application Instructions Interested candidates should apply via OLAS (Online Application System for Educators) and submit a cover letter, résumé, proof of NYS certification(s) (including the 5–6 extension), and any additional materials requested through OLAS.
