Teaching Assistant Job Description- ABA ClassThe North Shore Central School District is seeking a highly motivated and energetic teaching assistant for a 8:1:3 ABA special class program (K-2). Ongoing training will be provided in the areas of discrete trial instruction, Applied Behavior Analysis, data collection methods, Autism Spectrum Disorder, implementation of behavior plans and augmentative communication systems.Teaching Assistants will be responsible for the following:supporting the classroom teacher in the direct implementation of students’ Individualized Education Programscollecting instructional, performance, and behavioral program data based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) under the supervision of the classroom teacherimplementing teaching strategies and behavior intervention plansassisting in conducting basic instructional activities and in helping with the safety and supervision of students throughout the daycollaborating and communicating regularly with students’ interdisciplinary teamsupporting students in accessing a variety of school-based settings including special area classes, lunch, and recessPotential candidates must possess a valid level NYS Level One Teaching Assistant CertificationABA experience preferred.
