K-2/ABA Special Class (8:1:3) - ANTICIPATED VACANCYThe North Shore Central School District is seeking a highly motivated and innovative special education teacher for a proposed 8:1:3 ABA special class program on the elementary level(K-2). This will be the first program of its kind in the District and will require the instructional support and guidance of a candidate with prior experience. The candidate will be responsible for collaborating with and guiding the educational team.Seeking potential candidates who possess: * a strong knowledge of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) * a thorough understanding of the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, progress monitoring, and data collection * knowledge of curriculum resources to support IEP goal development for students with severe cognitive disabilities * skilled in the development of discrete trial instruction * experience training support staff in proactive and reactive behavior management strategies Tenure track position - Special Education Teacher Certification required.BCBA certification preferred but not a requirement.
