The Norwich City School District is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Family and Consumer Science (FACS) teacher to lead and expand our Culinary Arts Career and Technical Education (CTE) Pathway. This position offers a unique opportunity to help students graduate career-ready with a technical endorsement and credential in food preparation. Program Overview:Our Culinary Arts CTE Pathway includes the following courses:Global/Regional FoodsCulinary TechniquesFood ScienceCareer and Financial Management (CFM)The pathway is aligned with NYS CDOS standards (2, 3a, 3b) and FACS National Standards, and culminates in a third-party industry-based technical assessment (YouScience Culinary I). Students also complete work-based learning experiences, including guest speakers, job shadowing, community engagements. The idea candidate is:Innovative, collaborative, and passionate about preparing students for real-world careers in the culinary industry.Able to lead, manage, and grow the CTE Culinary Pathway with a clear vision and commitment to expanding student access and enrollment.Willing to foster strong partnerships with local chefs, businesses, and organizations to enhance work-based learning and industry exposure. Able to integrate industry standards and employability skills into daily instruction and program culture.Willing to collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and the district's Work-Based Learning Coordinator to maximize student credentialing and success.Certification Requirements:NYS certification in Family and Consumer Sciences (required), or willingness to obtain certification with district guidance.
