Position: Technology Teacher (CTE Cluster or Technology Teacher Certification Required, or applicant should be willing to obtain certification)Overview: Norwich City School District seeks an innovative and skilled Technology Teacher to lead hands-on, project-based courses in a dynamic shop environment. The ideal candidate will blend traditional design and production skills and experience with CAD software and other immersive technologies, enabling technologies to facilitate a relevant student learning progression. Furthermore, the candidate will be able to align the curriculum to industry standards and prepare students for industry-recognized certifications. This role includes collaboration with local businesses to design and deliver a skills-based curriculum that equips students with technical expertise and workforce readiness.Learn more about choosing Norwich: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtF3W0MMMtQKey Responsibilities:Develop and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons in a shop-based classroom setting. Teach courses such as Design and Drawing for Production, Woodwork, Mechatronics, Machining, Metalwork and Robotics. Integrate a curriculum aligned with industry needs, emphasizing skill development for technical careers. Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications through rigorous instruction and practical application. Collaborate with local businesses and industry partners to align instruction with workforce demands and provide students with work-based learning opportunities.Maintain a safe and effective learning environment, ensuring proper use of tools and equipment. Incorporate technology and innovation to enhance learning outcomes. Assess and track student progress, ensuring all learners meet technical and academic standards.Qualifications:Valid New York State Technology Education Certification or Career and Technical Education (CTE) Cluster Certification or willingness to obtain CTE credential or Technology certification.Strong knowledge of design, engineering, woodworking, metalworking, mechatronics, and related disciplines.Experience with shop tools, equipment, and machinery, including CNC programming and operation, is highly desirable.
