The Norwich City School District seeks tutors for K-12 students needing specialized instruction in a 1:1 environment. Tutors are assigned to students on a case-by-case basis and tutoring continues until completion of assignment. Successful, certified candidates will possess a strong ability to: Connect with students and families in a 1:1 learning environmentCommunicate with District office staff regarding assignments, attendance, etc.Teach within their certification area of instruction: elementary, secondary, or special education.Provide students with the regulatory instructional time (2 hours of instruction daily grades 7- 12 for a maximum of 10 hours a week; 1 hour of instruction daily grades 1-6 for a maximum of 5 hours a week). Pick up and return all instructional assignments and materials in a timely fashion.Accept student assignments when contacted – tutors teach all subjects the student is taking and work with teachers to continue students’ coursework. Lab work will need to be completed for students taking Living Environment or Earth Science.Communicate professionally at all times, with students and families.Serve as facilitator of learning, maintaining contact with parents and District office officials.
