VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT ANTICIPATED ELEMENTARY TECHNOLOGY TEACHER PROBATIONARY (10 Month) North Merrick Union Free School District is committed to recruit and hire the most qualified staff members who are dedicated to the success of all students and the North Merrick community. Job Description: The K-6 Technology Teacher will provide developmentally appropriate instruction in coding, computational thinking, robotics, and digital creation while collaborating with classroom teachers to integrate technology and support student learning aligned with ISTE Standards and the New York State Computer Science and Digital Fluency Learning Standards. Qualifications: - NYS Elementary Teacher Certification and/or NYS Technology Education preferred - Fingerprinting clearance required Essential Duties (include, but are not limited to): - Plan and deliver engaging technology instruction aligned with ISTE Student Standards and New York State Computer Science and Digital Fluency Learning Standards - Teach coding, robotics, computational thinking, and digital design concepts appropriate for elementary learners - Model effective technology integration strategies - Provide students with opportunities to create, design, and communicate using digital tools - Support equitable access to technology learning experiences for all students - Stay up-to-date on evolving technologies - Foster creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and responsible technology use - Ensure a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment Location: Districtwide Deadline: 3/31/26 Anticipated Effective: 9/1/26* Application Instructions: Qualified candidates should apply via OLAS with a resume and letter of interest to Dr. Helen Kanellopoulos, Supervisor of Instructional Technology, Special Area Subjects and Data Reporting before the deadline March 31st, 2026. *pending North Merrick Union Free School District Budget Vote
