The Elementary Classroom Teacher is responsible for providing a developmentally appropriate, engaging, and inclusive instructional program that supports the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral growth of all students. The teacher creates a safe and supportive learning environment, plans and delivers standards-aligned instruction, assesses student learning, differentiates instruction based on student needs, and collaborates with colleagues, families, and support personnel to promote student success. The teacher supports the mission and goals of the New Hyde Park–Garden City Park School District and contributes to a positive school community that develops students as lifelong learners and contributory members of a diverse community.
