Number of Positions (11) : 3 ELA, 2 Math, 3 Science, 1 Global, 1 US History, 1 Special Education Program Overview: Newfield CSD is seeking highly effective, student-centered teachers to support an innovative summer school model designed around short-term, high-impact instruction. This program replaces the traditional six-week model with two intensive 8-day semesters focused on credit recovery with embedded Regents preparation. Teachers will work with small class sizes and provide targeted Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 supports within a structured four-hour instructional framework. Dates & Schedule Semester 1 – Credit Recovery (8 Days) - Dates: July 6 – July 16 - Days: Monday–Thursday - Daily Instruction: 4 hours per day/per content block - Morning and afternoon blocks Semester 2 – Credit Recovery (8 Days) - Dates: July 20 – July 30 - Days: Monday–Thursday - Daily Instruction: 4 hours per day/per content block - Morning and afternoon blocks Curriculum & Assessment Development Time: - 2 days prior to the start of summer school - 6 hours per day (12 total hours) - Dedicated time for curriculum alignment, assessment creation, and instructional planning Compensation - Instructional Pay: $2,880 per teacher (per 8-day semester assignment) - Curriculum Development Pay: $360 per teacher - Total Possible Compensation: $3,240 per teacher Key Responsibilities - Deliver intensive, standards-aligned instruction for four hours daily over an 8-day semester - Design and implement credit recovery coursework with a clear Regents preparation focus - Provide Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 academic supports within the compressed instructional time frame - Use formative and summative assessments to identify learning gaps and monitor progress - Maintain high expectations for student engagement, accountability, and academic integrity - Collaborate with colleagues and administration to ensure consistency across sections - Utilize district-approved instructional platforms and assessments as assigned Student Expectations & Program Structure - Class size is capped at 10 students per section - Attendance and behavior contracts will be on file for all students enrolled - Teachers are expected to uphold and reinforce contract expectations consistently - Breakfast and lunch are provided to students at no cost - Students from neighboring schools may attend Qualifications - Valid NYS Teaching Certification in an appropriate content area - Demonstrated success delivering high-impact instruction - Experience with credit recovery, Regents preparation, MTSS, or intervention-based instruction preferred - Ability to build strong relationships with students in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment Applications Please submit a current resume, a cover letter, and a statement of interest that clearly explains why you are a strong and well-qualified candidate for the Accelerated Learning Program.
