The Teaching Assistant will perform many leadership, organizational, and classroom management tasks to support teachers and students. Their duties and responsibilities often include:Helping Teachers with lesson preparation, including collecting materials and setting up equipmentReviewing lessons or lectures with students on a one-on-one basis or in small groupsSupervising students in class, and between classes,Tracking attendance, grading assignments, and calculating gradesGiving extra help to students who need special accommodations or are struggling with a conceptAssisting students with special learning requirements, including disabilities or English as a second language studentsAttending faculty meetings and parent conferencesCollaborating with the Teacher to identify students’ issues and recommend solutionsObserving state, school, and class rules and regulationsBeing accessed to substitute teach for 6-12 teachers as needed.Level I Teaching Assistant, Level II Teaching Assistant, and Level III Teaching Assistant (will be considered).Qualified candidates will be responsible for instructing small and large Groups of students. This position will work with middle and high school students. It will assume the responsibilities of co-planning the curriculum, managing a small group, working with students at multiple levels, professional development, and creating open communication with parents and staff. Responsibilities also include participation with school-wide events.
