Special Education Teacher (Grade 3 - ICT) Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Deliver specially designed instruction within a Grade 3 Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) classroom to support access to grade-level curriculum and promote student achievement. Collaborate with general education teachers to co-plan and implement inclusive instructional practices. Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and support progress toward student goals. Use assessment data and progress monitoring to inform instruction and provide targeted interventions. Implement evidence-based literacy practices aligned to the Science of Reading. Apply Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and inclusive practices to create equitable and engaging learning environments. Partner with families, related service providers, and staff to support student success. Essential Skills and/or Experiences: Experience in elementary Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) setting preferred Demonstrated use of data-driven instruction and progress monitoring to inform teaching and support student growth. Knowledge of specially designed instruction, inclusive practices and Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Training and/or experience implementing the Science of reading and evidence-based literacy practices. Preferred Skills and/or Experiences: Collaborative team member with strong communication skills. Demonstrates a deep commitment to inclusive educational practices and the ability to create accessible, supportive, and engaging learning environments that promote belonging, meaningful participation, and high expectations for students with disabilities. Understanding of the New York State Profile of a Graduate and development of future-ready learners. Commitment to creating equitable, engaging, and student-centered learning environments.
