The North Bellmore Union Free School District seeks a dynamic, forward-thinking, and highly skilled Elementary School Assistant Principal. Expectations Support the principal in all aspects of leadership Exceptional organization and management skills, keen understanding of how to develop instructional and event schedules to maximize success and efficiency Visible, participatory, and growth-oriented leader who fosters connections with students, faculty, staff, and parents. Superb interpersonal, communication and data analysis skills Strong background in special education Unyielding passion to foster individual and collective student and staff success while supporting social and emotional outcomes Courageous, brave leadership style that supports innovative thinking and personal growth while fostering an environment of trust and inquiry Skilled with data analysis, data informed decision making and technology Versed in elementary curriculum to support teacher and student growth Skilled in classroom management strategies to maximize instructional outcomes Knowledge of higher-level questioning to promote cognitive engagement Proficient in designing testing schedules in accordance with state assessments and knowledge of testing accommodations Skilled in planning and implementing assembly schedules to minimize disruption to the instructional setting Versed in restorative practices to address student disciplinary concerns Versed in implementing RTI processes to support intervention and growth Other building leadership tasks as assigned by the building principal and other supervising administrators Q ualifications Appropriate New York State certification is required Minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience at the elementary level is preferred Previous elementary administrative experience is preferred Demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional development Excellent organizational skills Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, community members, and staff members Employment Terms This is a probationary position. Schedule and building(s) assignment will be determined based on district needs.
