TITLE: Substitute Bus Driver HOURS: Vary between the hours of 7am and 4pm REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent for Business, Director of School Facilities, and Building Administrators PAYSCALE: As per CSEA Custodian Contract, $17.96/hr JOB GOAL: Operate a school bus and perform routine cleaning duties; perform related duties as required. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Under general supervision, this is routine manual work calling for the services of a skilled operator and involving responsibility for the safety of school children. The position also entails elementary cleaning; manual tasks and all other responsibilities assigned by the Superintendent of Schools and his/her designee. TYPICAL DUTIES: Operate a school bus to transport children. Creates and maintains route trips rights/lefts. Clean, wash and polish buses. Assist in cartage of supplies and equipment. Other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS: Valid CDL License Fingerprints from Nassau Police department (to obtain a school bus aide id card)?? Fingerprints from NYSED? 3-hour bus safety course? Physical performance test?? Must attend a 2-hour refresher course twice a year? Candidates must satisfy the physical and mental requirements for school bus monitor set forth in the Rules and Regulations of the New York State commissioner of Education?
