Title: Elementary Principal (K-6) Pay Scale: As per the NBPA Contract Start Date: July 1, 2024 Description: The North Bellmore Union Free School District seeks a dynamic, forward thinking and highly skilled Elementary School Principal to begin on July 1, 2024. They will continue to nurture the existing collaborative, student-oriented, culture of learning and professional discourse that exists while leading forward in a growth-oriented manner that empowers learners, faculty, and staff to meet the promise held in the District’s Mission and Core Values. Expectations: Unyielding passion to foster individual and collective student and staff success while supporting social and emotional outcomes Superior instructional leadership talents and deep understanding of K-6 curricula Demonstrate a strong understanding of primary literacy and numeracy and ability to guide teachers in the implementation of district’s current curriculum and instructional programs Strong background in Special Education practices which will support students, families, and teachers socially, emotionally and academically Establish and promote high standards and expectations for all students and staff Exceptional leadership, team-building communication, and interpersonal skills Build and sustain a positive, nurturing school culture Strong skills in the areas of budgeting, scheduling, decision making and professional development Mastery of best practices with respect to RtI/MTSS; Versed in implementing RTI/MTSS processes to support intervention and growth Prepare or supervise the preparation of reports, records, and other informational data required or appropriate to the school’s administration Strong understanding of the observation process, providing positive feedback, supporting teachers with constructive criticism and an understanding of the Danielson Rubric for evaluations Orient newly assigned staff members and assist in their development Courageous, brave leadership style that supports innovative thinking and personal growth while fostering an environment of trust and inquiry Skilled with data analysis, data informed decision making and technology Use data to drive the instructional process and monitoring systems that will track student progress Build an engaged, diverse, and inclusive school community Strong organizational, self-management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle many responsibilities simultaneously Commitment to being the lead learner in the implementation of the district curriculum and create strong systems and structures for advancing academic outcomes for all students Attend special events held to recognize student achievement, and attend school sponsored activities, functions and PTA events Adhere and assume responsibility for the implementation of board policies, procedures, and regulations Initiate, design and implement programs to meet specific needs of the school Display the highest ethical and professional behavior and standards Attend monthly Board of Education meetingsAttend PTA eventsAttend district and/or building activities as neededPerform other duties as assigned Requirements: Appropriate New York State certification is required Previous elementary administrative experience, 3-5 years, is preferred Previous special education experience is preferred Demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional development Excellent organizational skills Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, community members, and staff members EOE Employer: The North Bellmore School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate in its employment decisions and practices on the basis of legally protected classes in accordance with
