The Newburgh Enlarged City School District has an anticipated vacancy for an Assistant Superintendent, Chief Information & Data Officer for the District.QUALIFICATIONS:NYS School District Administrator or School District Leader certification.Three to five years of experience in an urban school district with the oversight of school district data systems.Classroom teaching experience and/or working with K-12 schools, particularly with diverse populations.Ability to work with computer-based data reports and the ability to manipulate data. Experience working with statistical software.Familiarity of the Student Information Repository System and New York State Business Portal/Data warehouse.Ability to work collaboratively as a team /independently to meet deadlines.JOB GOAL:Under the Superintendent's direction, the Chief Information - Data Officer (CITO) will: Lead and supervise all activities performed in the Office of Information & Technology (OIT) and operate as a strategic partner for schools, central office, and the education community Support a team of technology experts to develop and implement a technology vision for the School District that operates with a sense of urgency with respect to implementing technological aspects of district initiatives Support the Network System Leaders to ensure the efficient operations of the technology infrastructure and the security of all data within the system Ensure a cybersecurity plan is in place and the infrastructure is tested on a regular basis Support the maintenance and functionality of the student information system and ensure all users are trained to use the system Supervise the submission of all NYSED required data reporting and verify for accuracy Lead the registration department and ensure the accuracy of data input and the timely enrollment of students Facilitate the development of a 3-year technology plan for the district in compliance with NYSED requirements Support the Data Privacy Officer and the District Data Coordinator to ensure PII is protected Implement a system of continuous improvement based on the NYSED Accountability status of each school and the district Provide technical assistance and guidance in the development of School Comprehensive Education Plans and the District Comprehensive Improvement Plan Implement and support a data-based inquiry model for the school district that incorporates school level teams and the central office team supportA complete job description can be found on the District’s website at www.newburghschools.org under the ‘DISTRICT’ tab/Employment with the District. Overview The Newburgh Enlarged City School district is located at "The Crossroads of the Northeast," an area on the west bank of the Hudson River 60 miles north of New York City and 80 miles south of Albany. Our district central office and the Board of Education are located at 124 Grand Street, Newburgh, NY 12550. The school district serves students from four neighboring municipalities: the City of Newburgh, the Town of Newburgh, New Windsor, and a small portion of Cornwall. Six elementary schools (including a Pre-K center in one building), one K-8 school, one middle school, and the high school are in the City of Newburgh. The remaining schools are spread throughout the other municipalities.
