The Newburgh Enlarged City School District has an anticipated vacancy for an Assistant Superintendent, Chief Information & Data Officer. QUALIFICATIONS:NYS School District Administration or School District Leader certification.Three to five years of experience in an urban school district with the oversight of school district data systems.Classroom teaching experience and/or working with K-12 schools, particularly with diverse populations.Ability to work with computer-based data reports and the ability to manipulate data. Experience working with statistical software.Full understanding of the Student Information Repository System and New York State Business Portal/Data warehouse.Knowledge and experience with multiple testing methodologies.Ability to work collaboratively as a team /independently to meet deadlines JOB GOAL:Under the Superintendent's direction, the Chief Information - Technology Officer (CITO) will lead and supervise all activities performed in the Office of Information & Technology (OIT) and operate as a strategic partner for schools, central office, and the education community. S/he crafts the Technology vision for the School District and operates with a sense of urgency with respect to implementing technological aspects of district initiatives and managing all core applications and all data, student information management services. The CITO is responsible for long-range technology planning, preparation and management of technology capital, and the respective departmental operating budgets. The CITO applies strategic use of resources to achieve planned objectives and realize cost efficiencies where possible. S/he takes leadership to identify and realize technology infrastructure improvements, business process improvement opportunities, and areas to further integrate the use of technology and meaningful data efficiencies to positively influence the classroom and the district. The CITO serves as a strategic advisor to the Superintendent on technology-Information-Data related issues, while overseeing day to day operational and management aspects of the IT department - divided into 3 core teams: End-User Services, Infrastructure and IT Security, and Student Management System, Data Management / Operations. Our district central office and the Board of Education are located at 124 Grand Street, Newburgh, NY 12550. The school district serves students from four neighboring municipalities: the City of Newburgh, the Town of Newburgh, New Windsor, and a small portion of Cornwall. Six elementary schools (including a Pre-K center in one building), one K-8 school, one middle school, and the high school are in the City of Newburgh. The remaining schools are spread throughout the other municipalities.
