At the present time, the District has the following anticipated vacancy: TITLE: Senior Microcomputer/Electronics Technician * SENIOR MICROCOMPUTER/ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAL POSITION IS PROVISIONAL and contingent upon results of the Civil Service Exam when issuedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either:Possession of a bachelor’s degree in electronics or related field and two years of experience as described below; orPossession of an Associate’s degree in electronics or related field and 3 years of experience as described below; orAn equivalent combination of training and experience as described above. PROMOTIONAL:A. Two (2) years as a Microcomputer Technician in the District.GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:Supervises and participates in the monitoring of Microcomputer/Electronics Technicians; does related work as required.DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: The Senior Microcomputer/Electronics Technician will oversee the supervision of Microcomputer/Electronics Technicians. They will act as the district Micro Computer/Electronics Technician and will provide skilled electronics repair work involving the service, maintenance and set up of microcomputers and some audio/visual equipment. They will also provide oversite to the ordering of repair of and supplies, inventory of microcomputers, assisting users in following guidelines for prevention of hardware failure. Our district central office and the Board of Education are located at 124 Grand Street, Newburgh, NY 12550. The school district serves students from four neighboring municipalities: the City of Newburgh, the Town of Newburgh, New Windsor, and a small portion of Cornwall. Six elementary schools (including a Pre-K center in one building), one K-8 school, one middle school, and the high school are in the City of Newburgh. The remaining schools are spread throughout the other municipalities.
