The Newburgh Enlarged City School District has an anticipated vacancy for a Library Director III for the Newburgh Free Library.This is a provisional appointment pending results of the Civil Service Exam when given.This position is non-represented; Confidential ManagerialGENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:Serves as head of a library serving a population of 25,000 to 50,000; does related work as required. ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:A Masters degree in Librarianship from a library school that is accredited by the American Library Association or recognized by the New York State Education Department as following acceptable education practices; and 6 or more years of professional library experience, 2 or more years which must have been in an administrative capacity. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Eligibility for a New York State Public Librarian's professional certificate at time of application for appointment; possession of certificate at time of appointment. Six elementary schools (including a Pre-K center in one building), one K-8 school, one middle school, and the high school are in the City of Newburgh.
