The Newburgh Enlarged City School District has an anticipated vacancy for a Registration Specialist for the District.The Registration Specialist position is *Provisional and Contingent upon results of the Civil Service Exam when given.GOAL/PURPOSE: Independently and confidentially oversees the processing of student enrollment for the NECSD. The Enrollment Specialist performs a variety of specialized duties including; assisting and advising parents of the online enrollment application process, support the maintenance of academic records, processing student enrollment, facilitating the registration process, and processing transfers. Works under the supervision of the Director of Registration and Special Projects, and the Executive Director, Chief Information & Data Officer.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Proficient ability to use a personal computer; software and databases specific to the District, Internet, and email. Knowledge of and ability to proficiently use general office equipment. Applicable knowledge of computer software programs for data storage and retrieval, word processing, spreadsheets, and data management. Ability to meet and work effectively with the public. Maintain effective working relationships with all employees. Excellent communication and written skills. Expertise in customer service, registrations, and processing of applications. Knowledge of the education system. Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities. Keen attention to detail. Excellent administrative skills. Computer knowledge and database skills MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS TO APPLY FOR EXAM: A. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Services or closely related field, and 2 years’ experience working with registration, enrollment or document maintenance; OR B. Six elementary schools (including a Pre-K center in one building), one K-8 school, one middle school, and the high school are in the City of Newburgh.
