The Newburgh Enlarged City School District has an anticipated vacancy for a Transportation Information Specialist for the District.DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: Obtains and maintains accurate student information for every student in the district requiring transportation to and from school to include public, private and special needs transportation. Updates information in the district’s computer bus routing data base to include emergency information and bus route data. Obtains price quotes for administrators from the various bus contractors in order to schedule extra curricular activities for students. Reviews invoices from bus contractors to ensure monthly payment for all contracted transportation. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and two years of clerical or data base system management experience in a school district or public transportation office environment. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Working knowledge of modern methods of keeping financial accounts and records;Working knowledge of maintaining statistical data;Ability to follow oral and written instruction;Ability to deal with the general public;Working knowledge of office terminology, procedures and equipment;Computer literacy.A complete job description can be found on the District’s website at www.newburghschools.org under the ‘DISTRICT’ tab/Employment with the District. Six elementary schools (including a Pre-K center in one building), one K-8 school, one middle school, and the high school are in the City of Newburgh.
