Position Overview Robert Moses Middle School is seeking a dedicated and dynamic English Teacher to join our team for a full time position. The successful candidate will foster a positive learning environment and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction aligned with New York State Learning Standards for English Language Arts. Responsibilities Plan and deliver effective instruction in reading, writing, speaking, and listening Develop lesson plans aligned with NYS Next Generation ELA Standards Assess and monitor student progress using a variety of formative and summative assessments Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of middle school learners Integrate technology and literacy strategies to enhance student learning Maintain a structured, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school initiatives Qualifications Valid New York State Teaching Certification in English Language Arts (Grades 7–12 or appropriate certification) Strong knowledge of middle school curriculum and adolescent literacy development Effective classroom management skills Excellent communication and organizational abilities Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching Preferred Qualifications Prior middle school teaching experience Experience with differentiated instruction and data-driven decision making Familiarity with Google Workspace or similar educational technology platforms Compensation Salary and benefits are in accordance with the North Babylon Teachers' Association collective bargaining agreement.
