Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction North Babylon School District The North Babylon School District, a diverse suburban public school system committed to academic excellence and whole-child development, invites exceptional educational leaders to apply for the position of Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, with a start date of July 1, 2026. This cabinet-level position provides visionary leadership to advance instructional excellence, ensure equitable outcomes for all students, and support the District's mission of preparing students for success in college, careers, and civic life. The Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction serves as a key member of the Superintendent's leadership team and is responsible for the development, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of the District's PreK–12 instructional programs. Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic leadership for curriculum development, alignment, and review in all content areas (PreK–12). Oversee implementation of New York State learning standards and graduation requirements. Lead district wide professional development aligned with instructional priorities and high-impact teaching strategies. Supervise coordinators and other instructional staff. Guide data-driven decision-making through analysis of student performance and instructional effectiveness. Collaborate with building administrators to ensure consistency, rigor, and fidelity of curriculum implementation. Coordinate state and federal programs, including grants, related to curriculum, assessment, and accountability. Develop and manage departmental budgets. Promote inclusive instructional practices across all schools. Desired Characteristics and Qualifications: New York State School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA) certification required. Minimum of five (5) years of successful building-level and/or central office leadership experience. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, assessment systems, and instructional leadership. Strong background in professional development design and implementation. Proven ability to analyze student achievement data and lead systemic improvement efforts. Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Visionary and student-centered leader. Collaborative team builder. Strategic thinker with strong organizational skills.
