The Department of Special Education is seeking a School Psychologist to provide services and social/emotional learning development to students at various Nassau BOCES locations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Conducting psychological re-evaluationsDeveloping and monitoring Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)Delivering individual and group counseling as per student Individualized Education Plan (IEP) mandatesParticipating in crisis interventions and trainingsCollaborating with a multidisciplinary staff to support student needsConducting parent and district outreachAttending annual review meetings and participating in screeningsSupporting students' social, emotional and behavioral needsREQUIREMENTS: New York State Education Department Certification: School PsychologistExcellent written, verbal, and communication skillsExperience with Chairing Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings, 504 meetings, mandated counseling and risk assessments is preferredExperience with FBAs and BIPs, as well as working with students with disabilities is preferredTwo or more years of related experience is preferred
