DESCRIPTION: The Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Technology is seeking a Program Specialist I to support the Model Schools program. The Program Specialist I will work with the Model Schools Supervisor and the team of professional developers to provide custom-designed technology-enhanced learning experiences for districts. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Enriching and supporting teaching and learning through improved integration of technologyEnhancing the technology skills of students, teachers and staffDelivering up-to-date instructional technology training and support REQUIREMENTS: New York State Education Department (NYSED) Professional Teacher CertificationNYSED Certification: School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA)Three or more years of teaching and/or administrative experienceKnowledge of New York State Learning Standards including the Digital Fluency and Computer Science StandardsUnderstanding of instructional technologyExcellent interpersonal, written, verbal and communication skillsAbility to travel
