*** IN ADDITION TO APPLYING ON OLAS, ALL APPLICANTS MUST VISIT THE NASSAU BOCES Employment Opportunities PAGE TO COMPLETE THEIR APPLICATION ***The Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Technology is seeking a Program Specialist II for the 2024-2025 school year to provide support for Guidance Technology Services and School Community Resources Services. The successful candidate’s responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provide support to the Program Coordinator of Guidance Technology Services and School Counselor Support Services as well as the Program Coordinator for School Community Resources. Provide ongoing support to district users in addition to delivering professional development and user groups. Maintain web-based resources and tools for services and maintain listserv and social media posts. Create presentations, flyers and other materials to disseminate to the school districts. Assist Program Coordinators in supervision and organization of itinerant support staff services - elementary and secondary counselors, school psychologists and social workers. Organize virtual mental and behavioral health bi-lingual parent training services. Create social and emotional (SEL) and executive functioning skill building lessons for PK-12 students. Maintain professional organization memberships and review and share information with district liaisons.Requirements:New York State Education Department Certification: School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA). New York State Education Department Certification: School Building Leader (SBL) or School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS) is preferred. New York State Education Department Certification: School Counselor – Permanent/Professional. Three or more years of counselor experience. Ability to develop and sustain strong relationships with component school districts. Ability to create and execute effective professional development and training. If the candidate is a certified guidance counselor, a New York State Department of Education Administrative Certification (SDL/SDA) is required, or the candidate must be enrolled in a leadership program which could result in a New York State Education Department Administrative Certification (SDL/SDA) and qualify for an Internship Certificate. The candidate must have completed 50% of the program.
