The social worker will work closely with the administration of the assigned school(s). Students benefiting from this service may include those with social, emotional, behavioral, and/or learning challenges. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Participate in the Committee for Special Education (CSE) process for students at various locations.Provide individual and/or group counseling sessions for students.Respond to crisis situations and provide appropriate referrals and consultation.Collaborate with all members of the school community and participate in staff meetings.Maintain accurate, appropriate, and timely records and reports.Requirements:New York State Education Department Certification as a School Social Worker is required.Valid and current LMSW or LCSW license is required.Strong written and verbal communication skills is required.Two or more years of related experience is preferred.*** IN ADDITION TO APPLYING ON OLAS, ALL APPLICANTS MUST VISIT THE NASSAU BOCES Employment Opportunities PAGE TO COMPLETE THEIR APPLICATION ***
