The Mount Vernon City School District is seeking interested applicants to fill vacancies for Per Diem Cleaners, Districtwide. The successful applicants MUST forward a letter of interest and résumé to www.Olasjobs.org. No Phone Calls Please. DISTNGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: Performs routine cleaning tasks. This is routine manual work calling for the performance of simple cleaning duties. Work is usually performed under the immediate supervision of a Head Custodian/Custodian who assigns the tasks and frequently inspects them when completed. Does related work as required.EXAMPLES OF WORK: (Illustrative only)Sweeps and mops floors; sweeps outside areas, rakes leave, picks up papers;Washes windows and polishes floors;High and low dusts woodwork, furniture and other articles;Replenishes lavatory supplies; helps with supply deliveries within school; Cleans lavatories;Participates in snow removal on sidewalks and walkways;REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Some knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment; ability to understand and follow oral and written directions; ability to read and write English; willingness to perform janitorial tasks; thoroughness; dependability, physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:NONE REQUIREDThe Mount Vernon City School District is an equal opportunity employer, committed to providing a work environment which is free from discrimination.
